How my journey began...
I have been a stay at home mom since 2003 and I love it. Once my kids got older and started school I thought to myself that I would really like to start my own business. I still wanted to be at home with the kids but do something that would keep me busy while they were at school...but I just couldn't figure out what.
I started crafting a lot in 2012. I never thought I was creative or had any artistic abilities but one day I had this idea of a pillar candle holder. So I figured out what pieces I needed to create it from scratch and I made it!! When I finished, I showed my mom and she said she loved it and wanted to buy it. I told her it wasn't for sale I just made it for my house. Then it dawned on me that maybe this is what I was meant to do. I really loved crafting and I really loved using wood products, maybe I should make a business out of it. I always heard the saying that you should have a job or business of something that you love and makes you happy.
Its been 5 years since I started Amanda's Creative Woodworks and I couldn't be happier on where this journey has taken me. I never thought I would be this far after just creating a candle holder but now I have over 100+ items in my shop, customers throughout the US, Canada and overseas. I love it when customers give me a challenge and to create something just for them. It just makes this business that much more special that I am giving someone exactly what they want.
